Your generosity deserves recognition. Most surrogates earn a base compensation between $55,000 and $75,000, with additional pay for experience, multiples, or a cesarean. A transparent third-party escrow account covers your related expenses too.

You will have a third-party attorney, chosen collaboratively rather than assigned by us, and an independent third-party escrow account manages your compensation. Professionals with no stake in the outcome protect your interests at every step.

Surrogate Requirements

We would love to support everyone who wants to help build a family. To protect the wellbeing of both our surrogates and the families they serve, we follow a set of general guidelines. Final approval always comes after our team reviews your full history and circumstances. To be considered, you:

  • Are between 21 and 42 years old
  • Have had at least one full-term pregnancy
  • Are currently raising at least one child of your own
  • Have had no more than three c-section deliveries
  • Have a BMI within our healthy range for pregnancy
  • Does not smoke or misuse alcohol, prescription, or illicit drugs
  • Have not needed medication for a mental health condition in the past six months
  • Are not currently receiving government assistance
  • Are a United States citizen or current legal resident

How Surrogacy Works

Understanding Gestational Surrogacy

As a gestational surrogate, you carry a baby for another family with no biological connection to the child. Your fertility team creates the embryo through in vitro fertilization (IVF), combining an egg from the intended mother or a donor with sperm from the intended father or a donor, then transfers it to you. We never use your own eggs.

Surrogacy is a medical process, and we guide you through each stage from your first appointment to delivery day:

The Embryo Transfer Process

Once our team medically and psychologically clears and matches you, the legal phase begins. After you and the intended parents sign contracts, the fertility clinic creates an IVF calendar. Your medical team arranges your medication and monitors you at appointments near you. About 10 to 12 days after your transfer, you take your first pregnancy test, and around 10 to 12 weeks you transition to your own obstetrician.

Pregnancy and Delivery

You are never alone in this part of the journey. Your case manager knows your story and handles the details, from appointment reminders to payment coordination, while you focus on a healthy pregnancy. As your due date nears, we build a birth plan that lets you deliver in your hometown hospital and define the intended parents’ role in the birth in a way that feels right to you.

Understanding Surrogacy

Gestational surrogacy is a process in which a surrogate carries a baby for another family. The embryo is created through IVF and the surrogate has no biological connection to the child she carries. For intended parents it is often the moment the path to parenthood finally becomes clear. For surrogates it is one of the most meaningful gifts a woman can give to another family.

In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate’s own egg is used, making her biologically related to the child. In gestational surrogacy, your eggs are never used, so you have no genetic connection to the baby you carry. We work exclusively with gestational surrogacy, which is the clearer path both medically and legally.

No. The embryo is created from the intended parents’ or donors’ egg and sperm before it is transferred to you, so the baby is biologically theirs from the very beginning.

A large agency may manage hundreds of cases at once, which can leave surrogates feeling like a file number. As a boutique agency, we cap our caseload at 20 active cases, so your case manager always has time for you, knows your story, and is there when you need them.

The Process

Most surrogacy journeys take somewhere between 18 months and 2 years from application to delivery, depending on matching, screening, and the transfer process. Your case manager will give you a realistic picture based on your situation.

Surrogacy is a medical process with three main stages: screening and clearance with a fertility doctor, IVF leading to an embryo transfer at the intended parents’ fertility clinic, and pregnancy and delivery care. You are supported through every appointment, and after about 10 to 12 weeks you transition to your own obstetrician for the rest of your pregnancy.

Not every transfer results in a pregnancy, and that is a normal part of the process. If a transfer is unsuccessful, your medical team talks you through the next steps, and additional transfers may be planned. You are supported medically and emotionally throughout, and never made to feel responsible for an outcome outside your control.

That includes matching you with the right family, coordinating your screening and medical care, arranging independent legal representation, managing your compensation through escrow, and being a steady point of contact whenever you need one.

Finances

Most surrogates earn a base compensation that varies with your experience, your state, and the details of your journey, with additional pay for things like multiples or a cesarean. Your medical and related expenses are covered on top of your base pay. We are glad to walk you through specific numbers during your first conversation.

Your surrogacy-related costs are covered, typically including a monthly allowance, maternity clothing, travel, lost wages, and more. The specifics are spelled out clearly in your agreement so there are no surprises.

Your compensation is held and disbursed through an independent third-party escrow account, not by the agency or intended parents directly. This keeps your payments transparent, protected, and arriving on schedule.
